Whitestock 2010

America elects a black president. To Glenn Beck, that means America is, as he said at his self-promotional rally, "walking in darkness."

Whenever Obama speaks to big crowds, the teabaggers shout "That's just like Hitler!" When Beck speaks to big crowds, the teabaggers boast about the size, worship Beck like he's a (Mormon) messiah, and say, "Boy, the Dems are screwed!"

And I'm still quite amused by the fundamentalist Christians who used to call Mormonism a "cult" now worshiping Glenn Beck as some kind of savior. And these same Christian fundies now follow a Mormon like sheep, while questioning Obama's Christianity.

The moral clarity of Sarah Palin

Just so we're clear. Sarah Palin wanted Rahm Emanuel fired for saying the word "retard." But she supports Dr Laura's shouting the n-word repeatedly over the public airwaves.

Ah, conservatism. Thank you for the moral clarity.

Who's covering troops leaving Iraq?

Historic images on our TV screens right now as the last US combat troops leave Iraq. MSNBC and CNN have had wall-to-wall live coverage all evening.

Fox News is playing some taped report about a pipeline in Alaska.

Figures.

Buh bye, Dr. Laura

Basically, Dr Laura is PISSED that people were offended at her n-word rant, so she's taking her microphone and stomping home.

Another teabagger/white supremacist attack on police?

There has been a surge in attacks on police in the US, mostly due to white supremacist and teabagger groups. Is this another one?

McKINNEY, Texas – A man drove a pickup truck loaded with ammunition into a suburban Dallas police station's parking lot on Tuesday, set the truck on fire and exchanged gunfire with police, officials said. The gunman was the only casualty and died at the scene.

McKinney Deputy Police Chief Scott Brewer said the man was shouting as the truck became engulfed in flames and the ammunition inside began exploding. The still-unidentified gunman then began shooting toward the police station and there was a "brief exchange of gunfire," Brewer said.

It wasn't immediately clear how the gunman died.

Brewer said police had no idea why the attack occurred or whether the man planned the attack alone.

Sarah Palin blamed for death threats against Obama

The Secret Service says Sarah Palin is to blame for a dangerous and incredible spike in the number of death threats against Obama in the closing days of the 2008 presidential campaign.

The Republican vice presidential candidate attracted criticism for accusing Mr Obama of "palling around with terrorists", citing his association with the sixties radical William Ayers.

The attacks provoked a near lynch mob atmosphere at her rallies, with supporters yelling "terrorist" and "kill him" until the McCain campaign ordered her to tone down the rhetoric.

But it has now emerged that her demagogic tone may have unintentionally encouraged white supremacists to go even further.

The Secret Service warned the Obama family in mid October that they had seen a dramatic increase in the number of threats against the Democratic candidate, coinciding with Mrs Palin's attacks.

Michelle Obama, the future First Lady, was so upset that she turned to her friend and campaign adviser Valerie Jarrett and said: "Why would they try to make people hate us?"

The revelations, contained in a Newsweek history of the campaign, are likely to further damage Mrs Palin's credentials as a future presidential candidate. She is already a frontrunner, with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, to take on Mr Obama in four years time.

Details of the spike in threats to Mr Obama come as a report last week by security and intelligence analysts Stratfor, warned that he is a high risk target for racist gunmen. It concluded: "Two plots to assassinate Obama were broken up during the campaign season, and several more remain under investigation. We would expect federal authorities to uncover many more plots to attack the president that have been hatched by white supremacist ideologues."

Irate John McCain aides, who blame Mrs Palin for losing the election, claim Mrs Palin took it upon herself to question Mr Obama's patriotism, before the line of attack had been cleared by Mr McCain.

There is no "Ground Zero mosque"

Harry Reid comes out against "mosque"

Harry Reid comes out against the Islamic cultural center two blocks from Ground Zero. He says it should be built somewhere else.

How about four blocks away instead of two? Would that be okay? Oh wait, there's already a mosque four blocks away, and has been for about 20 years or so.

Blockage

Who's got me blocked on Twitter?

A whole bunch of teabaggers.

And AmericaBlog.

What they have in common is a good dose of Obama Derangement Syndrome. No matter what Obama does, teabaggers and, apparently, AmericaBlog find it wrong, bad, evil, sinister, no good, yukky, poo poo, ick ick.

Fox News hosts agree with Obama. Wait, what?

Here's a head scratcher. Fox News hosts agree with Obama on his support of Muslims right to build a mosque near Ground Zero. I don't get it. Weren't they the ones leading the hysteria against it?

And it still irritates the hell out of me that the news media keeps missing the fact that there's already a mosque near Ground Zero 4 blocks away. The new mosque would be 2 blocks away.

Qualified!

Levi Johnston says he plans to run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska in 2012.

Just think. If he wins, he'll be almost as qualified as Sarah Palin to be vice president!

Ground Zero

Here's a thought.

Because religious fundamentalism was behind the crime of 9-11, how about we prohibit ANY religious building at or near Ground Zero. A religious building at the site of the greatest faith-based crime of the modern era would be, forgive me, a sacrilege.

The hypocrisy of No

Must-see TV: Rachel Maddow exposes the hypocrisy of the Party of No, a party so enraged by their hatred of President Obama they twist themselves into knots opposing their own policies if Obama comes to support them.

GOP aims to choke health care reform to death

Just wondering if any disaffected Democrats still want to "teach Obama a lesson" by staying home this November. If they do, this is what they're supporting.

“Our goal remains to repeal the bill and replace it, but, clearly, with the president’s veto pen, we’re going to have to take interim steps,” said Rep. Kevin Brady of Texas, the top House Republican on the Joint Economic Committee.

Republicans have proposed a bill to deny funding to any part of the law. But a more likely scenario is to choke off funding for pieces of the legislation that they find particularly troublesome, such as the requirement to buy insurance, changes to Medicare and the provision most cited by House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio: the “army of new IRS agents” to implement new requirements for business.

“Hopefully, we will have an election cycle where we will have a strong wave coming in that is opposed to this and can oppose the funding and the implementation of this,” said Sen. Sam Brownback, who is running for governor of Kansas this fall. The law “has to be funded to be implemented.”

Right wing logic

Sarah Palin, asked by Chris Wallace on Fox News about her low approval ratings, blamed them on the media.

"...if I believed everything I read or heard in the media, I wouldn't like me either."

Okay. So her low opinion polls are the media's fault.

But Fox News pundits and other right wingers are constantly gloating about President Obama's low opinion polls. They constantly harp on the low approval ratings of Obama's policies and ideas (not true, but that's another argument).

So can we assume, as per Palin, that THOSE low approval ratings are the fault of the media too?

I'm betting that in Palin Candyland, it doesn't work that way. Because Sarah Palin is a professional victim, our whiner-in-chief.
